What is the PTA?

The Parent–Teacher Association (PTA) is a dedicated group of parents, teachers, and staff working together to support every child. We aim to increase parental involvement, strengthen school and community connections, advocate for students, enhance educational opportunities, and foster open communication between families, administrators, and the Board of Education.

Membership is open to anyone who shares the mission and values of the National PTA. When you join our local PTA, you also become a member of both the state and National PTAs.

Together, we are a powerful voice for children. With your support, we can continue working toward our shared goal: providing every child with a quality education and a nurturing environment.

What Does the Searingtown PTA Do?

At Searingtown, the PTA works hand-in-hand with parents and teachers to bring extra fun, learning, and community spirit to our school—both during and after school hours. Together, we make special programs and events come to life, including The Brain Show, National Circus Project, The Power of One, Health & Safety Week Apples, Spirit Week Pep Rally Giveaway, Author Visits, Day 1 Care Packages (T-shirt, folder, and pencils), Back-to-School Night and Picnics, our beloved Flag Day BBQ Luncheon, and so much more. Every event is designed to create memorable experiences for our children and to keep our Searingtown community strong and connected all year long.

Dear Searingtown Families,

The start of a new school year is always an exciting time. As the newly elected PTA President, and on behalf of the Searingtown PTA, I would like to welcome all of you to the 2025-2026 school year. I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to another exciting and successful school year.

An effective and successful PTA requires support and involvement of our educators, parents and families of our students. The first way to show your support is by becoming a member of the Searingtown PTA. Simply visit https://searingtown.givebacks.com/ to join today.

Additional ways to show your support is by being a Class Parent and/or participating in the many events and programs we have planned throughout the school year. Please review the included Class Parent Request and Committee Sign-Up forms and consider bringing your ideas and talents to our Searingtown PTA.

It is because of our volunteers and the dedication of our teachers and staff that we are able to offer so many academic and cultural activities throughout the school year to enhance the school curriculum. Whatever level of participation you select, your time and involvement will be greatly appreciated.

Searingtown School PTA (Unit 10-354) is a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code organized under National and NYS PTA bylaws to serve the children in our school. The overall mission of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

 

 

2025-2026 Searingtown School PTA Executive Board

We look forward to seeing you at our General PTA meetings! These meetings are attended by the principal/assistant principal, teachers, committee chairpersons, and community leaders, who provide updates on events and initiatives within our elementary school and across the district. PTA meetings offer an excellent opportunity to stay engaged with your child’s education and school community.
